Coaches
The coaches (teachers) for the Pontiac Central FIRST Team are a group of dedicated professionals who are taking on the responsibility of providing you with the best enriching educational experience in education today. Many of their efforts are behind the scenes pre and post season. Many, many hours of planning are required to coordinate all the activities for out team.
Your coaches in many cases are also classroom teachers with full classroom responsibilities in addition to the FIRST Team activities. Much of the work required is done before and after school. Often the scope of this project requires evening and weekend meetings and organization.
When
traveling they are considered your "parents" looking
out for your welfare ad safe keeping. They take seriously the confidence
your parents
have placed in them. Their decisions are always aimed at what is best for the
student first and the team second. Please be aware that decisions regarding
team rules and procedures are based upon experience, school district and Delphi
input. You are expected to honor any request made by a coach.

TEAM COORDINATOR & VISUAL COORDINATOR: Mike Martus
Mike has been with the team since the beginning, he is starting his eleventh year of First and Chief Delphi. He is currently the team coordinator.
TEAM
- Coordinates all elements of project with Delphi
- Teacher of record for class, maintain classroom records and activities
- Oversees facility for practices, storages and materials
- Develops budget, maintain master financial records Authorized signature on bookstore account
- Secure hotel and transportation arrangements
- Maintain records of all donations, including equipments, food and other materials
- Supervisor of the Pit Crew
- Supervisor of Student Records
- Develop itinerary for all trips and events (Phone #'s, departures, students lists, and student forms)
VISUAL
- Supervisor of the Video Team - Hall of Fame Video submission, Video records and activities
- Supervisor of the Photo Team - Visuals for Hall of Fame Display, Team Picture and all photo activities
- Supervisor of the Spirit Team - Organization at events, team uniforms and all spirit activities
Mr. Spencer
Mr. Spencer is a new Coach who has volunteer to help the team for 2006-2007. He is active in helping the Hall Of Fame and the Newspaper Team
PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR: Birta Allen
Mrs. Allen is the mother of Chief Delphi, with her innovative idea's to make this team a national success. She help created CADET, the Rookie Camp, and many more.
- Establishes community contacts (civic, community groups, business organizations and government)
- Organizes non-competitive events, plans and facilitates gatherings (students, parents and Delphi)
- Establishes media contacts, including all press releases and media presentations
- Team building activities
